Agreed with Erin about the gratitude for being part of such a varied and dedicated group. Graley's comments on the losses Dylan seemed to be trying to account for in '67-'68 reminded me of a piece Court Carney published on the Guthrie tribute concert, and Dylan's deep engagement with it and the passing of this "father." "Too Much of Nothing" is too much of a composition for me to account for: I simply bask in its affecting, strange light. BTW, Erin: Joel swims in an Olympic sized pool of ill-gotten cash, so let us not fear that we pile on too much.

What a delightful discussion! As always, Graley is brilliant, charming, and insightful. Thank you for the shout outs! I am so grateful to be part of this group scholars and fans. Billy Joel. Lol.
