Another great conversation! I particularly enjoyed both of your insights on the nuances of race and gender in Dylan’s works. I’m looking forward to Rob’s book and to seeing you both in Tulsa!
So glad you enjoyed it, Graley! It has been such and honor and a treat to interview so many fantastic minds and personalities, and I always learn something about them, about Dylan, and even about myself.
I'm with Erin: "Another great conversation!" and another book to look forward to. It is almost half a century since I first heard 'JWH', and it immediately became, and has remained, among my very favourite albums.
'Augustine' was, and is, my favourite track, too. There I was, a teenage Dylan fan making lists of favourites and ranking everything. What a surprise....
Thanks for yet another sparkling conversation. They are all absorbing and thought-provoking.
Andrew: thank you for listening and for your lovely response! It has been a long time since we have made contact! Are you planning a trip to Tulsa this spring? My very best!
Dear Rob, that was very much my pleasure. Yes, sadly it has. That is probably mainly my fault as I've stepped back from many things in recent years; although, it has to be said that time has a tremendous knack for disappearing without trace no matter what one does.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to Tulsa next year and so you can imagine my jealousy when listening to and reading all the comments about you all meeting up there. What a glorious time you shall all have. Sigh..........
Great conversation! Blood & Theft, "I never know what's going to come out of that room," Blake, Kafka, Braxton, and the wonderful origin story about coming to Dylan through the sound and Rob's mom's musical tastes. A real treat, Jim and Rob. Next year in Tulsa!

Tulsa will be quite the gathering!

Not your fault at all; mine too. Sad to hear you can't make it to Tulsa, but eminently understandable. Time indeed is a jetplane!

The best part is, I barely know what I am doing, which encourages me to shut up and let the guests speak!
